HoND Doodles

Um...okay, well...

I just finished reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and I wanted to draw the characters, but not the Disney versions. Well, mostly not the Disney versions. More like how Hugo describes them.

So, up front we have La Esmeralda with her tambourine. Above her is her...attire...from chapter 42 (on her way to the gibbet). To HER left is Jehan, who is putting bunny ears on Frollo. Beneath the Frollos are Phoebus and Fleur-de-Lys, Phoebus being the one with the beard. Beneath Phoebus is Quasimodo. To the dancing Esmeralda's right, we have what I imagine Esmeralda to have looked like when Frollo saw her at the top of the tower in chapter 44 after his mad dash through Paris in chapter 43. Beneath her is La petite!Esmeralda with Clopin Trouillefou and his puppet . And last but not least are Pierre Gringoire and Djali down at the bottom.

So...yeah. I tried to base them off their descriptions in the book. Some notes:
-I know that Claude is supposed to be balding...but...I just couldn't do it. And I really like his Disney outfit, actually. So I gave him that.
-Clopin also has his Disney outfit on. But Hugo didn't really describe him that much in the book, and besides that his Disney outfit is way too awesome to NOT use.
-I suck at drawing animals! So please forgive me for Djali's crappiness.
-Jehan cracks me up. Clopin is awesome. So is Frollo. Phoebus is a dick. Pierre also cracks me up. How can Quasimodo speak if he is deaf? (NEVERMIND!!!) I should have added a chibi Frollo with a nosebleed next to gibbet Esmeralda. Oh well. Pffft.
-Ummm....I can't think of anything else...oh, wait:

Drawn with .7mm mechanical pencil, inked with pen, colored with colored pencil.
I do not own The Hunchback of Notre Dame, or anything related to it. It all belongs to Victor Hugo. And Disney. And all the other people who made movies of it.
